I do not know Judge Leslie A. Lewis in the 3rd Judicial District and I do not have an ax to grind, but I am not voting to retain her. The Utah Voter Information Pamphlet says all that needs to be said about her.
Apparently, 46 percent of 123 attorneys who evaluated her ability to "demonstrate appropriate demeanor" rated her as either "less than adequate" or "inadequate." Forty percent said her behavior was not "free from bias and favoritism." Only one of 11 other areas of evaluation revealed anything less than double-digit disapproval. (See page 35 of the Voter Pamphlet).
When I see the comparatively excellent evaluations of nearly every other judge in Utah, I am persuaded to alert my fellow voters to these facts so they can become informed prior to voting one way or the other. I think Utah deserves more from its appointed judges.
