How dare he minimize the actions of a sexual predator (or "creepy person" as Cannon chooses to label him)? Surely we should be able to expect that our "leaders" not engage in illegal, or at the very least wholly inappropriate, behavior toward minors (precocious or otherwise).
The responsibility is Foley's (and his alcoholism, and his sexual abuse and whatever other excuses he throws at us), and also with the congressional leadership which, instead of protecting the children, chose to protect Foley.
The House leadership should acknowledge its failure in protecting the pages, apologize, devise a better plan for their protection and then implement it. But that will never happen so long as people like Cannon blame the victims.
