Laws disobeyed, unenforced

As a Kane County resident, I share the position voiced by Jana and Ron Smith in The Tribune's March 13 Opinion section, that the actions of Kane County officials within federal lands are reprehensible. In first illegally removing federal signs from BLM lands, then placing copycat signs that allow use of OHVs on what are, as well, illegally cut roads across federal land, Kane County Commissioner Mark Habbeshaw has been emboldened by the lack of enforcement by those federal supervisors who are responsible for enforcing laws pertaining to their agency.

Until such time as a just system of law is observed by those we elect and those who are entrusted with regulating and protecting federal land for all citizens, many of us will suffer at the hands of a few. Sounds like the "outlaw" countries we are attempting to convert to democracy.
