I am so sick of bigots thinking they are not bigots when they support granting legal rights to domestic partners, but they are against gay marriage. That is like saying you support black people being able to drink from a public drinking fountain, but you don't support blacks drinking from the same fountain as white people. Reread the preceding sentence until it clicks because it is a revealing and sound analogy.
Heterosexuals are no more deserving of the pursuit of happiness than are gay people. All credible scientific evidence shows gay couples can raise children as well as heterosexual couples. Indeed, gay couples are raising children right here in Utah. Advocating separate legal status for gay couple families is to advocate second-class families for children to be raised by.
The Tribune ought not to pat itself on the back with its dubious stand for legal rights to domestic partners when it thinks those rights should be separate from and inferior to that of a heterosexual marriage.
