Mexican identification

I'm very concerned that the state of Utah accepts Mexican matricula consular identification cards as adequate to obtain a Utah driver's license or identification card. I'm also concerned that the Treasury Department has encouraged banks to accept this as positive identification when opening a checking account.

The only reason anyone would use this ID card in the United States as their form of identification is because they're here illegally. At a time when the security of our nation is in danger, why would the government encourage the use of this card, especially when it is issued by another government, without adequate verification or controls, that is in direct conflict with the United States over immigration laws and policies?

We're spending a fortune on homeland security only to have its effect minimized by such undermining of security and encouragement of illegal immigration. The fact that police departments, banks, government offices and others are accepting this card as proof-positive identification is not only an affront to American citizens but endangering our lives and freedoms, to say nothing of the insult to those who migrated legally.
