John Kerry was so impressive in Thursday night's debate - I can't imagine how he could have done better. He had detailed plans to win the peace in Iraq; he was strong and clear; he understands the world and its dangers.
George Bush floundered without even the words or plans to fill up his allotted time. Some commentators sneered that John Kerry sounded like the smartest kid in the class. Well, I want the smartest kid in the class to be my president - not George Bush, the incurious C student.
Thomas Jefferson was the smartest kid in the class. Abraham Lincoln was the smartest kid in the class. Teddy Roosevelt was the smartest kid in the class. Thank god John Kerry is the smartest kid in the class. I just hope we elect him to be our president.
