To save money, Sen. Chris Buttars, R-West Jordan, proposes to eliminate the 12th grade and school busing for high school students. Why not test out his idea and create a pilot program that eliminates the 12th grade and high school busing for the Jordan School District? The savings could be directed to the district's budget woes, and the voters of Buttars' district would receive the benefit of "thinking outside the box" by the person they elected to represent them. Buttars would have the benefit of observing and hearing from those individuals who are directly affected by his ideas.
