People don't realize that there is still racism and discrimination going on, and it hurts people more than they know. People assume someone will do a certain thing because of the way they look or where they are from.

When I am standing in line waiting for my turn to pay, many people go right in front of me as if I weren't even there. When I walk into a store, someone watches me the whole time I'm there to make sure I don't steal anything. Is this the way I should be treated, simply because of my skin color? Just because I look "Mexican," should people speak to me in Spanish and assume I know what they are saying?

People don't realize how badly they hurt someone by not liking a person because of their skin color or not trusting them because of where they come from.
