I was pleased to read that the Utah Supreme Court reversed itself and moved the hearing for Warren Jeffs' appeal back to its chambers ("Jeffs' appeal hearing moved back to Salt Lake City," Tribune , Sept. 18). Previously, the court had designated the hearing to be held at Brigham Young University's law school as an "outreach" project. While I have no sympathy for Warren Jeffs, and deplore the idea of preying on underage children as brides, the Supreme Court made a wise decision to bring the hearing back to a real courtroom.

Courts are meant for courthouses, and such a high-profile case doesn't belong on a university campus. If by some long shot Jeffs' appeal would have succeeded while at the BYU venue it would have created a media madhouse that no public relations firm could ever tone down or clean up.
