I do not believe gays are the greatest threat to America, as Sen. Chris Buttars, R-West Jordan, has said ("Buttars: Gays top 'threat to America,'" Tribune , Feb. 19), but I do believe they pose a moral hazard to our country, and it might be that Buttars' nervous constituents feel the same, and he has only spoken their mind.
My sense of the matter is that the silent majority has taken a back seat to the bellowings of the rancorous gang of gays, choosing instead to be comfortably silent and politically correct by leaving the fight to such as Buttars. Pity.
While gays call loudly for Buttars' resignation, may that silent majority now lift its united voice and call for the senator's retention in office, and may my voice be the first so to say.
