This is not the time to "cut back" on services for people with disabilities; it is the time to invest. Investing in people with disabilities means funding services that allow people to live their lives in their own communities just like you and me. They may need support in the form of assistive technology, like a wheelchair or communication board, support in getting and keeping a job or help with daily living activities. By spending one dollar, Utah brings three federal dollars into our economy and supports people with disabilities.

We can support people who desperately want to work by helping them get jobs so they can contribute to the economy. Medicaid is an excellent investment for Utah taxpayers.

With a little support, people with disabilities can live full, independent lives, and parents can keep their families together. Utah can afford to give a little to get a lot. Helping people with disabilities become full and active participants in society not only helps us all, but it is the right thing to do.
