Move the prison

It's time for our naughty neighbors at Point of the Mountain to go! The prison houses more than 4,000 inmates and has become an eyesore and a source of concern. The reality is that as families settle in Draper, their eyes go from the beautiful Wasatch Mountains to the impressive new LDS temple only to finally rest on the barbed wire-surrounded residence of such convicts as Warren Jeffs and Mark Hofmann.

Every year tax dollars go toward repairing the decaying prison's infrastructure. The place is falling apart, and prison is not where we want crumbling walls! Moving the prison to a more remote location will not only provide the community with a calm night's sleep, but the 670 acres will bring needed commercial and residential development. Only then can we wake up from the nightmare that is the Utah State Prison.
