Health insurance mess

Does Barack Obama not realize that one in seven health insurance claims is denied? Does he not understand that the cost of premiums is rising six times the rate of inflation every year? Even if the government pays for insurance, it's the people who are paying the taxes.

What about John McCain, offering a tax cut to Americans so they can buy health insurance? Does McCain not understand that half of all bankruptcies come from medical costs, and 74 percent of those people had health insurance at the time of filing? Why don't we solve the problems instead of adding to them?

Coverage doesn't result in care unless the insurance companies approve treatment. A tax cut doesn't translate into affordability when insurance premiums, co-pays and deductibles are rising this quickly, while the actual "care" that is paid for by insurance companies has been consistently dropping for the past 10 years.

Why does America keep buying into this system? Are these candidates only finding ways to give insurance companies more money so that the insurance companies can turn around and make a donation to the candidates?
