I am a high school senior this year, and the article about interfaith dating struck a chord with me, especially the illustration of a Mormon girl dating a Jewish boy, which could have been a drawing of me (As teens begin dating, crushes and religion don't always match up, Tribune, Aug. 30).
I am a member of the very small Jewish community in Salt Lake City, and I don't feel that there is any reason why members of different religions should not date. At my school, for instance, there are only four Jews in my grade. Why should I not be allowed to date a Catholic person? Do Jews have any less morality? Do Catholics? No.
Young people should not see religion as a barrier. I have always thought that people should bond over their similarities and differences. In doing so, two individuals can create a very strong relationship.
