Both my parents were heavy smokers and, at 60, I have lived longer than either of them, although I have inherited badly compromised lungs as a result of the second-hand smoke. I take issue with Jim Hill's sarcastic tirade about Kirk Hughes being unwilling to sit in a cloud of smoke at the Usana Amphitheatre ("What's a little smoking?," Forum, Aug. 27). It has nothing to do with being flexible or tolerant, but it has everything to do with the recognition that second-hand smoke is lethal - that's why it isn't allowed.
Shame on the folks at Usana who were unwilling to take the appropriate action!
