Those who support same-sex marriage claim gays and lesbians are in no way trying to force their lifestyle on other people. But last year, four San Diego, Calif., firefighters filed suit against their department after they were forced to attend the city's gay pride parade, even though they are heterosexual. They claimed they were threatened with disciplinary action if they refused to comply.

Then, two years ago, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors passed a resolution denouncing the Catholic Church's opposition to gay adoption. Strange, since one of the arguments used by same-sex marriage supporters is the separation of church and state. Does this separation only apply to churches and not the government?

I'm willing to listen to those who support same-sex marriage, but when I read stories like these, I wonder how honest some of their arguments are.
