After reading the Sunday column by Leonard Pitts, "What's Wrong With Trump?"I decided to check out the Pew Research Center's analysis of the 2016 election based on religious affiliation.

It was interesting to discover that "whites," in almost every religious category except "Jewish, non-Christian, or non-affiliated," voted overwhelmingly for Trump. That analysis included Utah. As Pitts said, The better question is: "What's wrong with us?" More specifically, what is wrong with white Christians in Utah? In a state that considers itself a unique moral and spiritual beacon to the world, what happened?

It appears that Utah white Christians, including our esteemed congressional leaders, are no more discerning of moral values in a leader than the rest of the country. So much for unique. Utah is just another part of the racist gang that wants to dump on anyone who is not a white church-attending Christian. Maybe we need to check out some scriptures and rethink who we are and why we vote.
