We have waited for quite some time to send this note to the editor of The Tribune, but the May 30 headline on the front page really takes the cake. We must now respond.

"Ex-student says Dixie 'hostile' to women." Really? Editor, you have got to be kidding! Nearly 50 percent of the front page? Some brilliant person at The Tribune actually thinks that is much more important and higher priority news than national news (i.e., "Trump says legacy of the fallen 'will endure forever'," Page 3, or "Portland mayor wants 'Trump Free Speech Rally' canceled," Page 6, and on and on).

This treatment is typical, nearly every day. Apparently whoever is in charge of determining what goes on the front page — local news or national news, which is important — always demotes, diminishes and relegates national to be buried deep in the subsequent pages mixed with all the part or full page advertising.

This policy of putting local news in two sections of the paper is contrary to what we have always believed: That national news is always on the front page and subsequent pages. All local news is to be placed in the Utah section.

Please try to get your priorities corrected and do it the right way.

Remember: National news, front page; local news, Utah section.
