After watching solar panels evolve for 20 years, we installed two sets on our home. We love our solar panels. We also love getting electricity from Rocky Mountain Power when the skies are cloudy and gray.

As solar-panel owners and RMP customers, we do not believe we are entitled to any special rates or considerations, but we also do not believe we should be punished and expected to pay additional fees. It should be fair across the board. We have a couple of questions.

Why is RMP targeting such a small group of its customers?

Why did RMP give a grant to the Olympic Oval and to several cities to get solar panels?

Why did RMP build a solar farm of 9,000 panels near Delta and a 20 megawatt farm in Holden?

Why did the federal government give us a tax break for our solar panels?

We are getting both a pat on the back and a slap in the face for getting solar panels! Isn't it possible that solar panels, wind turbines and coal-fired facilities can coexist? Can't we work together and make decisions that do not punish anyone?

It does not have to be an "all or nothing" issue.
