Sen. Mike Lee recently emailed us a copy of his seriously unstudied "Associational Life in America" deception. It's a smoke screen not unlike what Trump uses to misdirect voters' attention while continuing to undermine our democracy with failed ideologies.

Titled, the "Social Capital Project," it is fundamentally his latest ruse fashioned to deceive the people of Utah into believing he is finally listening to Utah's voters.

The thing is, as long as Lee continues to support Trump, every move he makes, no matter how brilliant, how creative, how innovative, how well designed, even how well-intentioned, will ultimately be treading water and a waste of time. He has to prove his sincerity before he warrants our attention. Starting with dumping his faithfulness to Trump.

Lee knows Trump is splitting the country and damaging our democracy. And he continues to support him. That's hypocrisy. Lee can't listen to us while he genuflects to Trump. Nevertheless, he stubbornly refuses to demand an "independent committee" to investigate Trump's businesses, money laundering, personal monetary gains, Russian connections, incompetency and his insanity.

The senator can do us an honest service. Stop supporting Trump. If and when he does, his "Social Capital Project" will stop drowning in hypocrisy. We can then listen to him with open minds, not tethered by insincerity.
