My wife and I like to go out to lunch and dinner, but these past several years we have eaten out less. Reason — excessive noise.

When you almost have to shout to hear one's conversation, you don't enjoy the food or the event. We have stopped going to several restaurants because of the noise.

My advice to all restaurants: Don't turn up the music to add to the people's conversation at other tables.
