The April 22 Salt Lake Tribune editorial,"It is time for new leadership at the University of Utah and its Health Sciences colleges," concerned me greatly as a long-time subscriber. I have hoped that my paper had journalistic integrity despite purchase by a member of the Huntsman family. I fear I am mistaken.

I know that the controversy of the University of Utah president and Vivian Lee firing Mary Beckerle was headline news and due to be covered by The Tribune.

I was shocked that the editorial board would choose, so quickly, to come to conclusions that might have been more appropriately left to published letters to your editor by the Huntsman family.

Seeing the board share such inflammatory language and views before much information had been published by your or other reporters or the involved institutions seemed to be a clear directive from the Huntsman family.

I am now suspicious of the interest of this paper and do not trust its intentions in reporting about the place I live and love.
