There is much to consider in the realm of leadership. Simply put, it starts at the top and the buck stops there. It appears that we have been under attack by hybrid cyber warfare directed by Russia. Any response to this attack should be directed by the president. Our democracy depends on freedom, patriotism and the rule of law. The leader must be responsible and accountable.

The president is embroiled in serious conflicts of interest, both economic and political. His job is to protect our national security. He should be trying to get to the bottom of the attack. Instead, we have an ongoing investigation to determine any campaign contact with the Russians.

Nevertheless, he is attacking the press over "fake news" and conspiracy theories. He wants travel bans and border walls. He denies climate change and wants out of the Paris climate accords. Talking tough about North Korea could provoke some unwanted consequences.

He does not want to be ''President of the World," just when our position as a global leader is more critical than ever. He seems to be turning against some of our allies, while praising the rise of autocratic rulers. His bluster does not demonstrate strength, but the inability to lead by any other means.

This all seems to be a distraction from his dealings in Russia and other untold ethical and economic conflicts of interest. As for the first 100 days, I say, the honeymoon is over.
