It is beyond frustrating to those who make changes in our lawn watering habits in order to conserve water, only to see the sprinklers of businesses and city entities running at this time, come rain or shine.

I travel home every weekday at the same time. I always travel east on 600 South and see the Garden Inn watering the mow strip every day at 11:45, even in the rain. It is even more discouraging to see Pioneer Park watering the lawn at 7:30 in the morning during a rainstorm.

I am grateful for the periodic reminders on the local stations about there being no need to water lawns at this time. I am not sure what the answer is. But as we are all asked to do our part, it seems to me that some businesses and the city are out of the loop.
