In George Pyle's April 2 editorial, titled "More Mormon influence here, please," he again reveals what appears to me to be his 'blind side' in many of his insightful editorials I have enjoyed over the years: a deeply ingrained disdain for religions, mostly Christian-based, that borders on bigotry.

When he makes the statement acknowledging the LDS doctrine of "… help the poor, shelter the stranger and all that other Jesusy stuff that the leaders of other denominations usually say equally supportive things about — and the followers of other denominations equally ignore," he displays both an ugliness and a fake news flair that our current president would envy.

He sweeps aside the fact of the massive support that organized (and unorganized) religions provide for those in need.

Catholic Community Services of Utah and Catholic Relief Services in the U.S. are just two examples. CCS of Utah spent over $16 million in 2015 on program services. CCS nationally received nongovernment contributions of over $1.4 billion that year alone. Catholic Relief Services provided another $677 million that year.

Let's see, does over $2 billion a year look like those needs were "equally ignored"?
