In response to Ken Miller's letter ("Boycott the companies," March 17): As an alternative, all of Utah should logically punish the Utah government actions by supporting Patagonia and REI and other beneficiaries fully.

At least these companies do not ignore the "almost free" $42 million per year, most of which would help businesses and not so much the government (though it would get its share). It seems like Utah is bent on digging up the past and future by developing to the utmost all of the resources it deems profitable without thought for the future.
