Once upon a time in the United States of America there was a group of people who were emigrating from a land far across the sea. They had an alien religion and a written language that looked nothing like ours. They had a strong culture that was so different from our own that we feared they could never be like us, and so fervent that it created suicide bombers to further their agenda.

One beautiful morning they sent those suicide bombers in airplanes to attack and kill thousands of Americans in our own country. We were so angry, so scared, that we rounded up thousands upon thousands of immigrants from that alien place and put them into prisons in the deserts, fearing that they might be trying to destroy our country from within. Even their infants and children could not be trusted. We were so angry, so scared, that eventually we killed hundreds of thousands of them in an instant with a searing flash of light.

How sure are we that this time is different? How sure are we that we are right? How sure are we that there is no other way that would work as well, or better?
