Sens. Orrin Hatch and Mike Lee:

Shame on you for voting to confirm Betsy DeVos for secretary of education.

Shame on you for not listening to your constituents and ignoring the tens of thousands of emails and calls that told you to vote no on DeVos.

Shame on you for spouting ALEC rhetoric that says more parent choice leads to better outcomes when the research doesn't support this, and when schools in Michigan where DeVos bought her political influence leaves parents with a multitude of bad choices.

Shame on you for letting DeVos buy her way into the Cabinet of the president.

Shame on you for voting for a nominee who was not properly vetted, who refused to disclose her possible ethical conflicts, plagiarized her written answers and did not disclose her financial conflicts.

Shame on you for voting for an education secretary who does not know there is federal law for students with disabilities; a law that was hard fought for by parents who wanted their children to have education rights under the law.

Shame on you for disregarding the education of the children of Utah and the country. It is clear your party means more than your constituents, morals and education.

But most of all, shame on us for voting you into office in the first place.
