As I watched President Barack Obama's farewell address I was flooded with three emotions.

First was hope. As Obama continued to promote his message of hope, I was struck by the need we have to continue hoping and pressure the incoming president to achieve our hopes.

Second was pride. Obama proved, once again, that he truly is a "good and honest" man. Americans, regardless of political feelings or affiliation, can be proud of our departing president.

Finally, I felt a deep and abiding sadness. The hope Obama always presented was not always achieved due to the abysmal record of our congressional delegation to work with the president and each other. So much could have been achieved had they worked for more bipartisan solutions. Americans should be ashamed of the delegation we have installed in Washington.

Let us all push for agenda change and make sure that, to paraphrase Donald Trump's campaign slogan, we "Make America Greater, Again." Citizens, everyone get active and support a better America.
