In this era when facts are not respected, newspapers like The Tribune must be vigilant to carefully separate fact from opinion and fact from fiction. The media has a special responsibility to speak the truth and not mislead its readers. The Dec. 6 headline, "Utahns eager to repeal health law, vow caution," wholly failed to carry out this vital role.

"Utahns" denotes "people of Utah." But the only opponents to Obamacare mentioned in the article are the members of the Utah congressional delegation. Sure, our congressional delegation is supposed to represent all Utahns. But the facts are that the uninsured rate in Utah has decreased by 31 percent since the ACA was passed and, in 2016, enrollment in Utah increased by 24 percent, the largest percentage increase in the nation.

To this reader, it sure doesn't look like "Utahns [are] eager to repeal health law."
