Recently Jan Chamberlin resigned from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir over its decision to sing at Donald Trump's inauguration. Whether you agree with her decision or not, which I do (support her decision), it is her God-given right to make that decision for herself.

I read her post on Facebook and then I read the comments. There was a mixture of support and hate. I would like to address the hate.

When did it become a crime to vocally express our opinions? If I say that I do not like Donald Trump, I am automatically labeled a leftist nut job who hates Jews, guns and God, which is simply the furthest thing from the truth. America is polarized right now and it is on the brink of violence. When we as human beings cannot even express our own thoughts without being attacked there is a deep-rooted problem that needs to be addressed and fixed. We are all different and that is great! We need to realize that even with our differences we can come together and not spread hate. Love one another and respect people's opinions.
