Our election process, especially for president, is too long!

I was in Canada recently talking to a gentleman outside a hotel one morning when, during our discussion of the ridiculousness of U.S. politics in general, he made the statement that their prime minister race lasts 60 days.

I don't know this to be a fact but it drove home the absolute waste of time, money and energy simply wasted on U.S. politics.

I know we all believe the U.S. has the market cornered on democracy. But, whatever the actual time frame of electing officials is in other countries, the U.S. election system is one more thing that is broken within our democracy.

Give them 90 days, give them 120 days, 216-plus days is simply a waste of everyone's time.

By the looks of it the only people affected would be television stations in loss of advertising dollars.

I'm sick of it all at this point. Are you?
