I can't recall a time I have been more disappointed in The Salt Lake Tribune. Your endorsements of Sen. Mike Lee and Rep. Chris Stewart strike me as typical one-party bias or, at the very least, tie goes to the Republican. To sacrifice your reputation as an independent voice so easily is heart-breaking. If this is your idea of holding those in power's feet to the fire, your journalistic integrity is in trouble.

The endorsement of a candidate should be earned, not automatically bestowed on the incumbent. To endorse candidates who deny climate change and consistently side with the fossil fuel industry over science is irresponsible. To endorse candidates who deny civil rights to citizens in favor of religious bigotry is deplorable. To provide "rubber stamp" endorsements of candidates based on party affiliation is insanity. The Tribune continues the proud journalistic tradition of looking out for the big guy, and rooting for the over dog.
