The recent story, "Official's credit card use triggers scrutiny," along with numerous other stories of credit card misuse, made me think of the years I spent working for a large computer company.

I had an American Express card through the company to use for travel and business expenses. But, as they knew that people would use it at times for personal use, it was established that the monthly bill was paid by me. Any company expenses required that I filed an expense report to get reimbursed by the company. This is the way that standards are established so that there is no misuse.

It seems only in government are these misuses allowed to happen.

Maybe if government would hire people with business knowledge this along with many other major waste of funds would stop.
