Rep. Mia Love's recent sophomoric campaign ad attacking Doug Owens for his involvement in stopping the initial incarnation of Legacy Parkway shows how little she has to offer Utah. It seems that Love has conveniently forgotten that three appeals court judges, all appointed by Republican presidents, ruled that the Environmental Impact Statement done by UDOT was not only "inadequate" but also "arbitrary and capricious," two of the worst characterizations that an EIS can garner. The blame for that and the subsequent costs lies solely with UDOT. Edmund Burke said, "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." In this case a good man (and others) did something, while Love would have had evil triumph. At least we now know which side Love is on.
