I read the most backwards and hypocritical letter today ("Power Hungry Clinton," July 18).
Carol Ann Lee has blinders on. She's focusing her vision strictly on what she wants to believe is wrong with Clinton. Anyone who runs for political office (Mitt Romney?) wants power. There aren't many other reasons to run for president. Why is it any different that Clinton seeks the office?
As for her being a proven liar, Lee is wrong. It's the GOP repeating falsehoods that has people believing she's a liar. When compared with others who have run for the office this cycle, she's the most truthful. Check Politifact. After all the rabid pursuit of some wrongdoing by Clinton to make her "unelectable," none of the GOP's persecutions/prosecutions has been successful. Yet they continue to repeat their lies day after day, wasting millions of dollars on fruitless investigations.
I suggest that Clinton stayed with her husband because she loves him and has forgiven him. She isn't the person who sinned. Yet Lee is going to vote for a world-class philanderer, who has no morals or respect for women, who's a sham of a businessman, who speaks without thinking and encourages hatred wherever he travels.
