I appreciated Jason Perry's op-ed June 26 in which he expressed a hope that the recent record caucus turnout in Utah is a sign of awakening Utah voters.

I have an idea for how a portion of the usual number of Utah votes can be doubled!

A couple of years ago I went door-to-door campaigning for my favorite candidate for public office. I would ask, "Are you registered to vote?"

I often received the answer (brightly), "No, but my husband is!"

I think my idea for doubling the voter turnout in this and similar households is obvious.
