Is anybody else getting really tired of the endless saturation coverage of Donald Trump? It's all Trump all the time. I haven't kept count, but it seems like most Trib editorials, letters and cartoons over the past six to seven months have dealt with Trump's latest buffoonery.

Meanwhile, the other candidate in the race, Hillary Clinton, gets only a fraction of Trump's coverage. And most of that is superficial.

Can anyone, even a Clinton supporter, describe the policies she's campaigning on? She's had a lot of experience in high office, but it's been a bumpy road. Can anyone talk knowledgeably about both the pros and the cons of her record? These things should all be topics of intense media scrutiny, but they're not.

We're in the process of electing a president, arguably the most important elected official in the world. Even if we're not happy with either candidate — I'm not — we have to make a choice. Such a choice should be based not on entertainment value but on the leadership qualities of the different candidates.

It's time for the news media to get off the Trump bandwagon and start giving this election the serious, comprehensive attention it deserves.
