In response to Tom Lund ("Alta forsakes its history ... " May 22), I disagree with his conclusion and believe the Forest Service should approve Alta's plans.

I am retired, a consistent contributor to the environmental organization Save Our Canyons and an Alta season pass holder. After considering the Alta development plans, I am convinced that they are sound, reasonable and a well-balanced approach towards improving the resort ski experience while providing adequate stewardship to the land.

I am in favor of Alta being allowed to move forward for the good of Utah skiing — for Utah's economy and for Alta.
