We all claim our disgust with Middle Eastern countries' views and treatment of their females, yet some right here in the good ol' U.S. of A. refuse to allow women and girls to fully participate in life. I'm talking about a rule in Davis County School District that prevents girls in junior high from joining in the wrestling team. Shameful, embarrassing and intolerable.

What about the notion that every U.S. citizen deserves the opportunity for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness? Is there a part of that I missed ... something about having to have one type of genitalia versus another?

I'm hoping Davis school district will choose to be on the right side of history. I remember in my school years having to wear dresses, not being able to participate in track and field, etc. It boggles the mind that it was acceptable then. It absolutely is not now.
