Recently my wife and I went out for dinner. On the way to the restaurant, we had to stop for a red light at an off-ramp. There stood a young man carrying a sign that says: "Combat veteran, homeless can you help?"

(Now, I do not know if he was truthful about being a "combat veteran.")

While watching TV, I look at an ad asking for donations for "veterans in need."

On an other channel there appeared a request for donations for "paralyzed American veterans"!

What is the matter with our America? Why the begging for helping those who fought and/or gave their all for our freedom?

Is it money that our leaders are lacking? Why are we giving millions in foreign aid to Pakistan to secure their friendship? And that is only one of many foreign countries we are buying friendship from.

Come on, America. It is time we take care of our own and especially those who are serving or have served in the Armed Forces. Honoring them once a year won't do it, either!
