This is a letter of thanks to The Salt Lake Tribune, its editorial board, its staff and everyone who helps to make its continued presence on my doorstep possible.

This week I am particularly thankful for your powerful lead Sunday editorial declaring ways in which our Legislature might protect life, Samuel Wolfe's moving op-ed piece suggesting how Mormon leaders might know the truth about homosexuality, Pat Bagley's life-affirming essay celebrating the resilience of the French and Bagley's wonderful cartoon.

I understand this is a difficult time for the Tribune, as it is for print news providers everywhere. On Monday morning I will grumble about the reduced size and lack of content of that day's paper.

But, for the moment, I just want to say, "Thank you," Tribune. You are an important part of life for many of us in the land of Zion. We are very lucky to have a world-class independent newspaper in our city.
