The full story of UTA administrative compensation should be told. The way the story is told in the newspaper, it makes one think that the high executive salaries are now 10 percent below the market. Of course, that is not true.

Administrative salaries includes the salaries of a large number of employees encompassing millions of dollars. It includes positions from customer service representatives to executives.

Averages always hide variation. Utah Transit Authority should post the report online in its entirety. That way those of us mindful to analytics and measures can dissect and find the strengths and weaknesses of the report, and engage UTA to allow them to earn our trust.
