Salem, Utah • Official say heavy rains in northern Utah have left nearly 100 Salem homes flooded or damaged.

According to city officials, about two inches of rain fell on Salem in just an hour. Salem police are calling the flood a 100-year storm, adding that they have not seen rains of this magnitude in the city.

Clean up crews worked to remove water from the homes on Wednesday. Officials say the southeast part of the city seems to be the most impacted by the waters.

One woman was injured during the flooding. A piece of glass cut the woman's leg when the water shattered her window and flooded her basement.
