Swan Valley, Idaho • A major blaze has destroyed a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel in Swan Valley.

The Post Register reports (http://bit.ly/2gamHT7 ) that the blaze broke out Tuesday afternoon and fire officials say the building is a total loss.

Bishop Terry Hulse of the Palisades Ward, or congregation, says no one was injured in the fire. A piano tuner was inside the chapel when smoke began to pour in from the attic, where the blaze is believed to have started, but someone warned the tuner to get out after seeing the smoke.

Church representative Sharon Parry says the church has a congregation of about 100 people on a typical Sunday. That number can balloon up to 500 during the summer tourist season.

Parry says she doesn't know where the congregation will meet in the interim.
