Following days of rain, northern Utah residents should remember the words of Little Orphan Annie: the sun will come out tomorrow.

Salt Lake and Tooele valleys will be partly cloudy Tuesday morning with more clouds rolling in this afternoon and a 60 percent chance of precipitation. There will also be a slight chance of thunderstorms later in the day and highs in the upper 50s, according to the National Weather Service.

Tuesday night will be mostly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of showers in the evening and lows dropping to about 40 degrees overnight. But Wednesday will be sunny for people along the Wasatch Front with highs in the upper 50s and lows dropping into the mid-30s Wednesday night.

Southern Utah residents near St. George can expect sunny skies all day Tuesday with highs in the upper 70s. Overnight, the sky will be clear with lows at about 50 degrees and northeast winds blowing from 10 to 20 mph after midnight. Wednesday will yield sunny skies again with highs in the upper 70s and east winds from 10 to 20 mph in the early morning. Wednesday night will be clear with lows in the mid-40s.

Air throughout the state is forecast as "green," or good, quality at least through Wednesday, the Utah Division of Air Quality predicts.
