Following rainfall and cooler temperatures in Utah on Saturday, the air will begin to dry and warm as the week begins.

Salt Lake Valley residents can expect sunny skies with highs in the low 90s Sunday and in the mid 90s Monday.

After an oddly-cool Saturday with temperatures only reaching 77 degrees in St. George, residents in the area Sunday can also expect sunny weather with highs in the mid 90s Sunday and in the upper 90s Monday.

Saturday's high of 71 degrees in Cedar City tied a 1972 record for the lowest maximum temperature, National Weather Service said.

A public information statement on the weather service website showed rainfall measurements from Saturday across southwest and south central Utah, and a flood warning advised Kane, Iron and Washington counties of danger, especially in areas near rivers and streams.

A Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued to the western two thirds of Utah,the weather service says, as temperatures rise and humidity drops.

The majority of the state should expect "yellow," or moderate air quality as the week begins, according to the Utah Department of Environmental Quality.
