The National Weather Service is predicting highs in the mid to upper 90s along the Wasatch Front on Independence Day and partly to mostly cloudy skies.

Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop across central and southern Utah on Saturday during the day and spread north into the northern part of the state in the evening and overnight, according to the weather service.

The highs on Sunday in northern Utah will be in the 80s to around 90 in most locations, the weather service says, and the chance of precipitation will continue.

The high in St. George and Zion National Park is expected to reach the upper 90s on Saturday and there is a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the day.

A high of around 100 in St. George is predicted on Sunday.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible in much of the state through the early part of the week .
