Thursday's rain and thunder were to give way to gradually clearing skies on Friday and a gusty, but dry weekend along the Wasatch Front.

High temperatures for northern Utah were to climb into the low- to mid-60s Friday, about 5 degrees warmer than Thursday's forecast.

More typical spring weather was settled in for southern Utah, however, where daytime highs Friday were predicted to hit the low- to mid-70s, up a few degrees from Thursday. No precipitation was on tap for Utah's Dixie heading into the weekend.

The Utah Division of Air Quality hoisted its "green" banners for healthy breathing conditions statewide stretching into the weekend.

The Intermountain Allergy & Asthma website pollen index as of Thursday showed maple, cedar and oak at "moderate," but all other allergens were at "low" levels.
