Happy Thursday. President Donald Trump claimed Wednesday that the Republican tax-reform plans proposed in the House and Senate would “cost me a fortune, this thing, believe me.” That is not true. Nonpartisan analyses of the bills indicate that most of the nation’s biggest earners — the top 0.1 percent — would see tax cuts under either proposal. Based on his 2005 return, The Washington Post estimates Trump could save as much at $42 million. [WaPost]
